IT Security Engineer – UK – £75-100K
IT Security Engineer to join their global security architecture and engineering function. This is your chance to work in a varied role interacting with the Security Architecture team, Information Security colleagues, IT & Infrastructure organisations, and Business Units on a global scale.
You will serve as a key technical resource within the organisation. Where you will detail and configure Next Gen Firewalls and Secure Web Gateway configurations within platforms, responsible for crafting security engineering documentation, configuration guides, run books and standard processes.
IT Security Engineer Responsibilities:
- Create and produce Information Security engineering standards, artefacts, design patterns and technical specifications documents.
- Impart engineering knowledge across all network products, with focus on Next Gen Firewalls, Secure Web Gateway, and Endpoint solutions.
- Take responsibility for building Low Level Design (LLD) and operational run books based on the level 1 architecture design
- Background knowledge on Network Protocols, Remote Connectivity, Threat Prevention, Sandbox, DDoS, URL Filtering and SSL decryption
- Participate in solving design level issues
- Assess, supervise, and recommend improvements to the global network security architecture to improve security posture, mitigate risks and balance costs
- Apply skills to security services and help build and protect enterprise systems, applications, data, and assets across multiple geographic regions.
- Designs and collaborates on solutions that balance both business and information security requirements.
- Proactively spot technical and architectural risks, commenting and/or providing alternatives for improvement.
- Collaborate and partner with various key collaborators across the enterprise to ensure alignment with the overall intended design.
- Partner with architects, engineers and operational staff within infrastructure, network, application, and business teams to ensure that solutions are developed and handled as per GCIS policies and standards
Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- CISSP, CISA or GIAC certification preferred
- Proven ability working with (Palo Alto, Zscaler and McAfee/Trellix)
- Experience working with on premise and cloud service providers (Azure and AWS)
- Strong knowledge of Next Gen Firewalls and Secure Web Gateways
- Proven knowledge of operating systems, Antivirus, and malware lifecycle
- Hands on experience in spotting performance issues and remediating them
- Proven cybersecurity experience
- Solid technical background and experience in leading
- Demonstrated working experience in a regulated and globally distributed environment
- Self-motivator and excellent customer service provider
- Able to quickly grasp and interpret salient information
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ability to communicate technical challenges to technical and non-technical audiences internal and external to the organisation
- Flexible and resilient, handle various demands planned and unplanned
- Demonstrable ability to handle various tasks and projects simultaneously
- Problem solver and desire to tackle issues, pragmatic and realistic with solutions.
