Cyber Security Architect – £100k – Remote Working in UK (Applicants must have been in the UK for 5 years+)
One of the largest financial services company in the UK is looking for a Cyber Security Architect to join their team. The company is undergoing a company-wide security transformation, looking for a Security Architect to translate security control requirements into architecture patterns and solutions designs. This role is ideal for someone who is looking for career progression and development in a greenfield security project in a leading financial services company.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CYBER SECURITY ARCHITECT:
- Translate security control requirements into architecture patterns and solution designs to advise the leaders of each security division
- Review and advise on architectural designs and recommend security controls to ensure risks are mitigated in the design phase
- Maintain awareness of current and developing security threats
- Define security architecture reference models and develop security architecture building blocks
- Evaluate and select security technology and products for road-mapping to assess their alignment with the companies control requirements
- Review existing systems and identify security issues, in order to provide recommendations for improvement and escalate any potential risks
- Work with team leaders to improve the lifecycle methodology and security design governance requirements
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR A CYBER SECURITY ARCHITECT:
- Experience in security architecture is essential
- Experience with cloud security architecture is highly desirable e.g. AWS, Azure
- General understands of security practices such as PKI, encryption, event management
- Experience with OWASP, web application security, microservices and containerisation is highly desirable
- Experience with DevSecOpps related practices/tools such as Automations, CI/CD, Jenkins, Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes and Virtualisation
- Strong knowledge of network security platforms/tools such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, web application firewalls, network access control
- CISMP, CISM, GIAC, or CISSP certifications are essential
- Architecture certifications such as SABSA or TOGAF are desirable
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science, IT engineering or cyber security
- Master’s degree in information/cyber security is desirable
- Experience in financial services is preferred
- Strong communication skills
