£75000 - £90000 per annum, Benefits: Financial Services bonus & pension, paid time off for professional development

One of the UK’s leading Financial institutions is currently recruiting for a Security Architect to work on a variety of projects including a Cloud Security Transformation prograame and developing Zero Trust topology within the organisation. They are looking to hire someone who can help them build an environment & architecture which is Secure-by-Design.


You will be joining a team of 5 Security Architects, 4 of whom are experienced practitioners and 1 who is relatively new to the team and is being developed. They are ideally looking to bring someone on board to supplement the existinig team, so you will ideally have a couple of years experience in Security Architecture & will be looking for an environment where your Security Architecture skills will be developed. In line with this, they offer extensive training & development opportunities including paid time off for studying towards Security certifications & exams. The team works very collaboratively and provide a huge amount of support for each other to ensure that they are all learning from each other whilst delivering excellent solutions for the business.

The organisation is in the midst of a large scale Security Transformation programme so you will have exposure to a variety of different projects so an excellent opportunity to gain some hands on learning. Examples of projects they are currently undertaking

  • Developing a Zero Trust architecture across the fragmented business entities
  • Transformation from On premise to Azure cloud
  • Ensuring that the appropriate controls are in place to protect the business by overseeing technical solutions (testing patterns & solutions to ensure they are working correctly)
  • SSO
  • Identifying security architecture patterns 


  • 1-3 yrs experience as a Security Architect in any industry sector with an interest in working in a complex organisation with complex security architecture
  • Experience of recognising patterns (commonly occuring problems) in Security Architecture & the ability to make recommendations for replicating Security architecture solutions in various part of the organisation
  • Broad, holistic understanding of how a company’s security architecture works and fits together in order to be able to identify opportunities for efficiencies & building Secure-by-Design solutions
  • Ability to think about conceptual Security Architecture solutions (this team’s work is less focused on configuring and delivering solutions but on designing the solutions and concepts)
  • Familiarity with TOGAF/SABSA
